Liquid Vitamin D3, Extra Strength

Healthcare Practitioner Brand
Douglas Laboratories®

1 bottle
30 doses

Personal Note From Sally: This is a high dosage product and is only for people that want to supplement with a high potency amount of Vitamin D3. I originally chose to buy Douglas Laboratories Liquid Vitamin D3 because I was personally having so much trouble keeping my Vitamin D levels up. I see my medical doctor about every five months to be tested for Vitamin D levels. They have consistently been lower than my doctor wants them to be. Over time, she first insisted I take D3 rather than the D2 I took in years past. Then she moved the dosage up to 5,000 I.U. and then on up to 10,000 I.U. a day. She had me take a liquid rather than a capsule. She also had me go outside in the sunshine daily until we determined it did not make a significant difference. Douglas Laboratories is such a reliable company, I like having this quality product.

One thing I like about this Liquid Vitamin D3 supplement from Douglas Laboratories is that it has almost no taste and it does not coat my mouth with oil. The first liquid product I tried tasted like fish (Bleah!) and left my mouth covered with oil.

Liquid Vitamin D3 by Douglas Laboratories

This supplement supplies 10,000 I.U. of natural Vitamin D3 which is the best form of Vitamin D3 to take. Natural Vitamin D3 is cholecalciferol and is the form of Vitamin D that your body makes from sunlight. Some supplements supply D2 which is calciferol. It comes from irradiated fungus and is not something your body makes naturally.

All vitamins are necessary for the proper functioning of the body and Vitamin D is no exception. There is a long list of known ways the body utilizes Vitamin D. It helps to regulate calcium and bone metabolism, modulate cell growth, regulate immune, neuromuscular functioning and eye health.

It is not possible to get enough Vitamin D from the food you eat. The other natural way to get vitamin D is by exposing your bare skin to sunlight. When you expose your bare skin to sunlight (ultraviolet B rays) your body begins to produce cholecalciferol, which is Vitamin D. You only need to expose your skin for around half the time it takes for your skin to begin to burn. However, many factors play into how long this process might take. It depends on the time of day, how close your location is to the equator, how much skin is exposed and the color of your skin. People with dark skin produce less Vitamin D.

Like all of the fat soluble vitamins, Vitamin D needs dietary fat to help break it down and absorb it. That means that you have to have fat in your stomach at the time you take it to absorb it.

Liquid Vitamin D3 is the natural form of Vitamin D3 the skin makes with sunlight.Ingredients
